a table full of various sketches and drawings. i pick one, what i love in a photo is on that drawing : high contrast, blurry face, shape of hands...
a boy comes to me, "that's mine" he says. i show the drawing, "is it exactly the way you want your picture to be ? " i ask. he thinks and replies "yes, if that's possible".
we find our way in dark corridors, i look for shadows, i look for a source of light, i don't have the right to use the studio.
he poses, i take two pictures. "is it enough ?" he asks. i smile, take a third one, but i know the first one was the One. Later, i give him a print. He keeps the drawing, i keep the negative. we both got good grades.

That was my very first assignment in photo school, four years ago.
